MTQ began in 1970 as Dynamic Turbocharger Services Pty Ltd. In the following years, the company expanded through a combination of natural growth and acquisition. The growth was assisted by the company's commitment to providing the highest levels of customer service, workmanship and product reliability in all facets of industry where exhaust gas driven turbocharging is utilised.
In 1999, Dynamic Turbocharger Services (Australia) Pty Ltd became a wholly owned subsidiary of Metalock (Singapore) Limited, listed on the Singapore Stock Exchange. This allowed the company to pursue new business development opportunities and further expansion with continuous commitment to excellence in products and service.
In 2002 MTQ acquired RM Diesel, a major distributor of diesel fuel injection spare parts. Later that year the company acquired Turbo Torque, a Brisbane-based turbocharger sales and servicing company. A corporate name change united the businesses under MTQ Engine Systems (Australia) Pty Ltd.
In 2003 MTQ purchased Adelaide Fuel Injection (AFI) which started in 1984 and BJ Diesel which began in 1976. Both companies shared the same vision as MTQ of high quality and first class service. The purchasing of these companies allowed MTQ to become a more dominant player in the market and offer more extensive parts sourcing Australia wide. Since then, MTQ has added diesel fuel injection branches in Laverton and Perth.
